Thankful for the Cheddar
A classic family recipe to show appreciation for my paid subscribers
Cheddar noun; informal; US English (especially in hip-hop lyrics) money.
Hi Everyone,
A “real” (and free) post will be coming in a day or two. This is a bit of a pre-Thanksgiving treat for those who dug into their pockets for me. I haven’t limited any of my posts to paid subscribers yet, so this will be the first. But please know that I’m thankful to all of you—paid and unpaid—who found my (often lengthy) writing worthy of your attention.
I’ve been cooking most of Thanksgiving dinner for many years now. Our son knows it no other way, and I love that. What I love even more is that Thanksgiving is his favorite holiday. I hope to keep it that way and plan to cook Thanksgiving dinner as long as my life circumstances and health allow.
One of my joys over the years has been the pursuit of a more perfect Thanksgiving dinner through recipe tweaking, and the one recipe I’ve given my greatest attention to is my mac & cheese. I’m pretty proud of what it’s become—the most requested dish of our annual feast. So for Thanksgiving, it’s only right for me to share something I prize so much to show appreciation to those of you who threw some cheddar my way. And here it is—Mike’s Mac.
